Musicians Looking to Take Things to the Next Level as a Musician Educator/Teacher

Jerry BergonziIf you know jazz music well, or if you play the saxophone, there’s a good chance you know who this guy is. He’s one of the most amazing musicians in the world, a super nice guy, and also one of the most influential and important jazz educators in the world! Jerry Bergonzi is a hero to me, really. And an inspiration. This man has in many ways what I think so many musicians, myself included think is kind of a perfect situation. He’s an incredibly capable and sought after musician that plays music live and records whenever he wants to and pretty much wherever he wants to, and with whomever he wants to. But he also has a thriving music education studio that there’s always a wait list for. Students from all over seek him out for what he has to offer because not only is he a master of his craft but he is a master educator.

My time with Jerry was so special to me. I remember our time together vividly, and it was one of my most cherished experiences in Boston. The irony is I was there studying at Berklee and Jerry wasn’t even teaching at Berkelee, but I think I learned more with him than I did in any of my classes or lessons at the college. If you dream of having a life like that, being able to make music on your terms, but also wanting to teach music, and to be known in your community as one of the best sources or the go-to source for music education in your community, I can help you get there. I myself have an extremely busy schedule and run an academy music that serves over 500 students and families on a regular basis, but I do have a couple of windows that I have reserved just for people like you to work with and help you achieve your goals.

Obviously there’s a lot more to it than just being a good musician. I’m here to help you!

  • Make a plan, and figure out a way to get you there.
  • Musical preparation, pedagogical preparation.
  • Consider what kind of studio you want.
  • Legal questions like LLC, 501, etc.
  • Mission and values.
  • People skills
  • Nuts and bolts like a logo, branding, website, etc. We can even hook you up with people that will be very affordable to provide those things.

If you’re ready to make it happen, drop me a line I’d love to help you get there!
